Captured Live

Below are various live recordings and videos we've published over the years. Note that in some browsers, some of the embedded YouTube links may show an error but are visible on the YouTube site itself. Our "Sneak Attack" harmonica instrumental first appeared on our 2007 CD "Topsy Turvy" and here we revisit it as a "live in studio" version, recorded in September of 2025.

Our current take on Stevie Wonder's ever-relevant "Love's In Need Of Love Today", filmed live in our project studio with guitar looping and programmed percussion.

Our instrumental version of "All Of Me", written by Gerald Marks and Seymour Simons in 1931, performed live in our project studio with guitar looping and programmed drums.

Here we tackle Robbie Robertson's "The Weight" as a harmonica instrumental, live in our project studio with live looping and pre-programmed drums. I fell in love with The Band as soon as their "Music From Big Pink" album hit the stores back in 1968 -- went to see them live several times back then and their music has stuck with me through the years. This particular tune has been covered by many, so there are some great versions out there. My favorite (of those I've heard) is still the version from The Band's "Last Waltz" album, performed with The Staples Singers (If Mavis Staples' vocal on that cut doesn't send chills down your spine, you may not be human :-)). So, this ain't that, just our humble take on it. - Slim

Penny Hanna - Solo Viola da Gamba - Partita XII Solo - August Kühnel (1645 - c.1700)

This is an excerpt from Penny Hanna's solo viola da gamba concert recorded live on April 20, 2017 at the Santa Cruz Public Library's "Munching with Mozart & Friends" series.

This is Penny fronting the Musician's Warehouse Big Band, somewhere in the early 2000's. Big thanks to Trombonist John Tabler for getting this recording to us.

As far as I know, this is the only surviving video from the 1980s of our duo performing in front of a live audience. The occasion was the 1988 Austin Music Umbrella's Songwriters Competition where Penny was a finalist for her song "Love Rises Up" and voted Best Female Vocalist.

Penny's on fire here, and the crowd loved her performance. She's backed up by yours truly along with an array of synthesizers controlled by a computer live on stage (rather unique for that time period). The 80's were a prolific time for Penny, recording three albums of her original tunes within the decade.
